Recently CCP announced that they were cutting the workforce and that most of the cuts were happening to the staff who work "front-of-house", community liaisons basically. This is a worrying trend, CCP's recent track record of communicating with the playerbase is not great. I am not sure how they expect to keep up a decent level of customer service with a reduction in this area.

I was thinking recently about the elements in EVE and how many there actually were. I was quite surprised to find as many as I did, mainly transitional metals. I made this little periodic table to help you see them. I might improve it by making the missing elements a little clearer.

How do you link in messages or chats to corporations, items or other stuff?

The function to link objects within EVE makes sharing information and helping other people a lot simpler. There are two ways to autolink, these are:

1. Simply drag and drop the item you wish to link from your hanger or cargohold to the chat or evemail.
2. If you do not have the item you want to autolink, you can type the name of the object into the chat window, highlight it, rightclick and then go to autolink

It has actually been aired during this year's alliance tournament. I've seen it about 3 times so far. Sadly CCP seem to be crowding out the community videos this year with over the top corporate sponsorship. Please check out the Youtube link below if you haven't already seen the video!

They have supposed to have fixed EVE Gate today but it isn't working properly. The behaviour of it is inconsistent with random users broadcasts appearing as my own and various posts going missing.

To combat this I'll be monitoring the comments on this news post all day.

The cemetery is doing something big for this year's tourny. I can't go into details yet but just keep your eyes glued to the live streams!

I have managed to secure myself a job IRL which has sucked up a lot of my Eve time. That is my excuse for not posting and I'm sticking with it ;)

I've been playing with EVE Gate while at work, it needs more users. Hopefully the upcoming forum changes will make it a little more relevant.

I still haven't got round to recovering the cans left over from last year's treasure hunt. The interest in it suggests to me that I should do another treasure hunt soon. Also I finally removed the poll from the right side bar, I kept getting emails when people voted. I've left it in the original post for archive reasons.

The new PI mechanics are a LOT better than they used to be, I've been making a lot of fuel for the cemetery tower. The only thing lacking currently are Helium Isotopes. I might arrange another massive cemetery ice mining op after hulkageddon has finished.

I have got about 400 graves up at the cemetery now which is about halfway through. The backlog is still huge with close to 11,000 corpses to process. I might need to expand the cemetery corporation to cope. COME BACK JINKEI WE NEED YOU!

I know I have said it before but this year I am going to try to blog weekly at the bare minimum. I have a few little EVE based projects I want to work on, chiefly my COSMOS item analysis. No promises on time scale.

I will organise the event to occur before the end of November. Please keep your eyes peeled for more details!

Aside from the myriad of IRL problems that have hit me all in one go, Goonswarm have decided to take offence to the cemetery again. They issued a wardec on Sunday and launched an assault early on Tuesday morning. They brought overwhelming numbers, our gunners weren't able to break their spider tank. We were out-numbered 20:1.

I am not sure why they keep trying to destroy the cemetery, they make up all-sorts of nonsense about wanting to eat corpses. My personal theory is that they can't cope with real PvP and have to find small targets to bully.

Right before the assault one of the FCs for Goons demanded that I release several corpses to their custody. I made it quite clear that only the pilots themselves could request their corpses back. I will not be bullied nor will I go against my principles.

I am trying to organise some sort of counter-offensive but if they bring 60 pilots again I am not sure what we can do other than provide a token defence.

The cemetery WILL continue.

After the initial boredom of insane cycle times was dealt with we had a good time and managed to fill the orca about 3 times. I am undecided as to if we should do this sort of op more often. In future I might open it up to the public, including the lovely people in #eve-cem.

It also happens to be my 6th EVE birthday today! I was planning to organise a quiz but I haven't had time. I still haven't been able to unpack properly after moving home.

I'm now settled in sort of... not quite happy with my housemates but that is besides the point. I am working on moving to a more lively town when I have paid off the credit card.

The main issue with living here is the chronic lack of bandwidth, I get about 4Mbps on a good day (down from 20 in the city). It is looking like my ISP practices throttling too, I've been seeing a clear drop in performance every day at roughly the same time with it then picking up again long after midnight. All in all this means that missions are very laggy, I struggle watching the BBC iPlayer and skyping my parents is difficult.

I am going to ease myself back into scanning, maybe dabble in Planetary Interaction and then hitting up the Amarr Epic Arc again.

In closing I just want to thank the dedicated band of tower refuellers who kept the cemetery ticking over while I was offline. Epic thanks to Karin and Jinkei who managed to organise everything.

I had several arguements with the station administrators about knocking through walls to extend the size of my old apartments. They complained about airtight walls and other such nonsense.

Anyway I have a lovely new apartment, much larger, in a more secluded area of the station. I even have a garden! Which reminds me I must hire a gardener...

If I wanted more space now I'd either have to move into a ship hanger or move planetside. Considering how I feel about the weather I'm experiencing here on Nakregde 6 currently that isn't likely to be an option. I am having to live planetside for the next week or so while my things are moved to the apartment. Can't wait to get back in my pod!

When I originally landed it was cold but the sky was clear. I left the manticore, gave the crew some personal time and went off to get some clothes for the up-coming party season. I can't always get away with wearing a flight suit to every occasion. Luckily Nariea had furnished me with the latest Amarr fashion tips. Shopping is always more fun when done together but I wanted to surprise her...

During the several hours I spent trying on the most gorgeous dresses the weather had closed in and upon returning to the manticore I discovered a blizzard in progress. After having struggled aboard with all my own shopping, the stupid maglev network had been shutdown due to the bad weather stranding most of my crew in other parts of the continent.

I started the take-off sequence, against the advice of traffic control, but as I eased up the power the whole ship started shaking violently. Aborting I checked the sensors and discovered the landing gear and been FROZEN to the deck!

I was livid. I had to power down and go out into the blizzard and chop at the ice myself. Stupid crew, stupid weather. Anyway, I finally managed to free myself and get into orbit which is when I found out I'd left some of my shopping in the hanger office. I'm not going back for it. Hate flying in the snow. I'll get one of my lazy crew to collect it when they return to the station on a civilian transport.

What I need now is a long hot bath, a big mug of tea and then later I might relax on the balcony with a lovely bottle of wine I picked up planetside. I just hope nobody calls round, don't fancy entertaining tonight.
